Welcome to the gallery of Alison’s unforgettable 80th birthday celebration.
What a heartwarming event that brought together friends and family from near and far. Alison’s milestone birthday was nothing short of spectacular, with guests traveling 2 to 3 hours and some flying in from Florida, Virginia, and Arizona to honor this special occasion. Hosted at “the Dam Brewhouse,” owned by my brother & Alison’s son John and sister-in-law Sarah, the event was a beautiful tribute to our lovely Unicorn, otherwise known as Alison.
The celebration had a quirky Hat theme, where guests donned their domes with hats that reminded them of Alison. The creativity on display was remarkable, with hats featuring cats (a nod to my mother’s love for them), blue-footed boobies, flowers, hot peppers, and quilting designs, among others. Despite the showering and cloudy weather outside, the atmosphere inside was filled with joy and laughter. My mother, seated on a throne adorned with a queen’s crown, and scepter, truly felt like royalty, smiling from ear to ear throughout the day.

As Alison’s daughter, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who attended, both those who traveled long distances and those who supported us locally. Your presence and contributions made this day exceptionally memorable. The celebration wouldn’t have been possible without the collective efforts of our guests, and seeing my mother so happy is a memory I will cherish forever. Thank you for making Alison’s 80th birthday a day fit for a queen!
Special Thanks to Sarah for being our official photographer for the event, along with all those who sent in images to share, along with those who helped decorate, prepare food, tidy up, and break everything down afterwards. You all are amazing!
